Community Self Defense Series
Cambridge HEART and Impact Boston are proud to announce a community self defense series, offered free to the community. Meg Stone and her team of instructors will guide us with the intention of building community, self confidence, awareness, and connection.
📅 Date(s): Third Thursdays of each month, July through October
July 16 | August 20 | September 17 | October 15
⏰ Time: 6pm to 7:50 pm
📍 Location: East Cambridge, MA (6 min walk from Lechmere Station)
What to Expect
Classes are taught by a team of two instructors— one teaches self-defense skills, the other takes on the role of an aggressor. This instructor wears a full suit of protective body armor so you can safely practice the skills you learn. People learn to swim by getting in the water. Self-defense is similar– the best way to learn is to get up and practice.
IMPACT’s approach to self-defense is trauma-informed, social-justice-oriented and designed to teach practical safety skills in a way that challenges "victim-blame."
